David Lee

David is in-house counsel for Tesla, Inc., a global automotive and clean energy company. His area of focus is expanding the direct-to-consumer sales model for battery electric vehicles in North America. He joined Tesla in 2018 and is based in the Pacific Northwest.

Prior to Tesla, David served as a Branch Director for NOLS Mexico located in Baja California Sur. He has over 200 field weeks leading backpacking, sea kayaking, sailing and white-water expeditions in Alaska, Washington, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. He currently teaches Wilderness First Aid for NOLS Wilderness Medicine.

David holds a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctor from Boston College. He is a lifelong learner and currently enrolled in the vintage watch program at the Norwest School of Horology. David is a 2000 Himalaya Mountaineering graduate.
