NOLS offers a structured cancellation policy based on how far in advance you cancel. Full refunds (minus a processing fee) are available for cancellations made well before the course start date. The closer to the start date, the less refundable the tuition becomes. We strongly recommend reviewing the full cancellation terms on your enrollment agreement or contacting admissions for specifics.

NOLS awards nearly $1.9 million in scholarships each year. Financial aid applications are available on our website and can be submitted alongside your course enrollment. Yes, visitors are welcome at our headquarters in Lander, Wyoming. We recommend contacting us in advance to schedule a tour so we can have a staff member available to show you around and answer questions. Our campus includes our main offices, the NOLS store, and is surrounded by the Wind River Range, one of our primary expedition locations.

During a NOLS expedition, students are typically in remote wilderness areas without cell service. For non-emergency communication, you can send messages through the NOLS office, and they will be relayed to the field team at the next resupply point. For emergencies, NOLS maintains 24/7 communication with field teams via satellite devices. Contact our main office for the emergency protocol specific to your student's course.
